1920s-30s Wednesdays – ‘Sunny Side of the Street’

Sunny Side of the Street starts a new online 1920s – 1930s song series for you.

While we’re self-isolating, my son, Damon, and I, will serenade you with a 1920s-30s song every Wednesday.

This Wednesday, 15 April 2020, is On The Sunny Side Of The Street, composed by Jimmy McHugh, lyrics by Dorothy Fields.

Some authors say that Fats Waller was the composer, and that he sold the rights to the song. It was introduced in the Broadway musical Lew Leslie’s International Revue starring Harry Richman and Gertrude Lawrence.
